As you become a little more confident, you might wish to begin to explore some of the other plug-ins that can be effectively applied to the Master Track if the mix requires it. Two general word of caution though.
-
Don’t try to use the Master Track FX Chain to fix up errors in your basic mix. A muddy guitar, for example, should be fixed at source, not in the Master Track.
-
The order in which you place your FX will make a difference. Experimenting with different orders can produce interesting results, but never place anything after your Master Limiter (except an analytical tool such as the Goniometer or a dithering plug-in if you are using one – this will be discussed shortly).
